Wireless Connection Guide

The three settings you will need to set up your wireless connection are:

SSID
chartercollege
(alternate SSID: CharterCollegeWireless a)
(alternate SSID: CharterCollegeWireless g)
Encryption
WEP
Network Key

Windows XP (Easy)

  1. A little icon will pop up next to the clock, saying that there's wireless networks available.

  2. Right click the icon, and choose “View Available Wireless Networks”

  3. Choose the “chartercollege” network

    Choose a wireless network

  4. Type in (or copy and paste) “9072771000abcdef9072771000”. Then click Connect.

    Type the key, and then click Connect

Windows XP (Hard)

  1. Click the start menu, then choose "Control Panel"

  2. Find “Network Connections”. (If your screen doesn't look like this, click “Network and Internet Connections”, then click the “Network Connections” icon on the bottom.)

  3. Right-click your wireless connection, and then click “Properties”

  4. Go to the “Wireless Connections” tab, and click “Add”

    1. Fill out the Network Name (SSID) with “chartercollege
    2. Uncheck “The key is provided for you”
    3. Data encryption is “WEP”
    4. The network key is “9072771000abcdef9072771000
    5. Click “OK”
